Infants (6 weeks-12 months): Rosebuds Room
Our infant program is designed as a calm, loving, and nurturing environment where infants can explore freely. Our infant environment is prepared with appropriate toys and activities that will support each individual's development. Infant play areas are filled with low shelves, neutral colors, and everything is eye leveled to the infant. Our teachers will speak in gentle tones where each child under our care will be nurtured with affection and respect Teachers will also follow each child's individual demands in order to fulfill all of their needs. As we all know the first few months of life for infants is very important and it is the time that the infant grasps all information and cues to reach their developmental milestones. Therefore, we have created an environment that allows each infant's different personality to be supported by our caregivers.
Toddlers (12months-1year): Dandelions Room
Our toddler program is designed to have a daily routine that is consistent and flexible. Our teachers will encourage a variety of strategies that will allow each child to begin his/her senses of independence while at the same time having the guidance of their caregivers. The toddler program will also provide concentrated nurturing, gentle tones, and care combined with daily attention to individual and small group activities that focus on sensory, physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. These developments will be achieved through play, movement, exploration, manipulation, reflection, expression, and socialization.
Preschool (2yrs-5yrs) Poppies Room
For our preschool program, our teachers will teach strong literacy capabilities, a love of learning while achieving self-confidence, self-sufficiency, and high self-esteem. Our preschoolers will also receive constant care and nurturing, while they continue to master skill development in personal hygiene, toileting, and helping care for their environment. The preschool program will also be based on a daily routine while keeping it child-directed. Lesson plans will be created all depending on what the children interests are such as planets, cooking, fairies, dinosaurs etc. Their will be a lot of hands on activities and exploration. Jean Piaget believed children learn best through play and therefore play is an important part of our center. Play allows children to learn about the diverse community we live in, imitating real-life experiences, help children to show their emotions and creativity through the different kinds of play. Our program allows children to connect in different ways and build strong relationships with their peers and teachers. At this level children start to prepare for kindergarten and our program will help children meet the kindergarten level.
At Nature's Nursery & Preschool all infant and preschoolers enrolled will grow their own fruits, veggies and plants with the help of our wonderful teachers.
